CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMISSION WORKING TO FUND MORE SRO OFFICERS

The Cumberland County Commission voted last night to set into motion to fund four new school resource officers for elementary schools. The county currently funds four school resource officers that covers eight schools. After discussion last night, commissioners decided to send the item to the budget committee for funding. The county’s cost to add four additional officers for the elementary schools is about $350,000 in the first year with a recurring cost of about $200,000.
