The Crossville City Council at their meeting tonight approved a request to put a full-time student resource officer at the Phoenix School. Councilman Danny Wyatt requested tonight to be able to discuss placing an officer at the facility in light of recent school shootings in the nation. Crossville Police Chief David Beaty told the council and citizens in attendance that he has two uniformed officers that are student resource officer qualified and he recommended to the council that one be placed at the Phoenix School. Councilman Wyatt made the motion to do so and received a second from Councilman Scot Shanks with the motion passing.
