A North Carolina woman was arrested in Cumberland County late last week on a repeated driving under the influence charge. Deputies were called to the Exxon on Plateau Road and Interstate 40 where they reportedly found an intoxicated 54-year-old Sharon McElreath Powell of Old Fort, North Carolina behind the wheel of a vehicle. Powell was charged with her 7th DUI violation. Officers say she was previously arrested for the offense six times ranging from 2002 to 2017.
