The Rockwood City Council had numerous items before them at their meeting this week. They approved the hiring of three new police officers and promoting Sgt. Kelly Pittman to the rank of captain in the police department. Daniel Jeffers, Chris Kennedy and James Marney were named as the three new police officers. The council also accepted bids to begin construction of fire station two to be built on North Kingston Avenue beside the Methodist church. The council also hired Josh Richardson who will be the new animal control and codes enforcement officer for Rockwood. Richardson currently works for the City of Harriman as animal control officer.
