The Blount County Sheriff’s Office says a 22-year-old man was killed following a car accident on Sunday morning. Around 5:30 AM, deputies responded to reports of a single vehicle wreck near the 2900 block of Miser Station Road. The driver, 22-year-old Michael Clark Jones of Louisville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff’s Deputies say Jones was traveling southwest when he crossed over the center line and veered left. He went off the road and traveled approximately 40 feet before hitting a tree head on. The vehicle’s airbags deployed, but Jones was not wearing a seat belt. The investigation is continuing.
