A Roane County man is looking at kidnapping and assault charges after a recent altercation at a home on Sunny Springs Lane. According to the arrest report, officers say 29-year-old Kevin Ernest Russell told deputies he would charge at them when they walked toward him responding to a domestic assault. A female victim and her daughter was taken out of the home then Russell reportedly barricaded himself inside. She told deputies that Russell struck her three times in the face and attempted to choke her. The victims daughter then reportedly hit Russell drawing his attention away from the woman. Russell reportedly came to the door and when officers attempted to handcuff him, he got into a scuffle with them leaving one officer with a leg injury. Russell was charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count each of aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault of a police officer, domestic assault and resisting arrest. Russell was transported to the Roane County jail.
