Cumberland County Commissioners approved several resolutions at Tuesday night’s meeting. Among those resolutions, the 2018 county road list was accepted along with a lease and agreement for the county Red Cross for another year. The commission agreed to apply to the state for Community Development Block Grant funds to extend water lines to the southern portion of the county. In order to alleviate the school system’s cash flow problems that have been associated with Federal Project Grants, the commission unanimously approved to move $200,000 from the General Purpose School Fund to the Federal Project Fund. No new money was involved. $400 was approved to assist the county fire department with donations toward the fire alarm program and other costs associated with the daily operation of the fire department. A grant for the county archives and preservation in the amount of $3500 was approved along with $54,183 in funds from the state for litter removal to be used toward the purchase of two Ford Fusion vehicles for the sheriff’s department using the state contract for transfers.
