Knoxville police say three adults were transported to UT Medical Center after a small plane crashed just south of downtown Knoxville. Officers say no one on the ground was hurt from the crash. Crews with the Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire Department, and Rural Metro responded to the scene in the 1100 block of Groner Drive at Laurans Avenue this afternoon (Tuesday, December 19, 2017) to find the wreckage of the 1975 Aztec twin-engine plane in a yard. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were called to the scene and will investigate the crash.
