Two men were transported to the Roane County jail yesterday afternoon (Thursday, December 14, 2017) on drug charges. According to the report, a deputy observed a silver colored Ford Ranger leave a residence on North Roane Street known for drug activity. Officers stopped the driver, 41-year-old Donald Ray Perkins of Harriman, for a traffic violation on Devonia Street. Deputies reportedly asked Perkins if he had anything illegal on him which he replied he had a marijuana pipe in the backseat. A search of a passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Toby Scott Knight of Wartburg, allegedly revealed a bag of meth. Perkins was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Knight was arrested for manufacture, sale and delivery of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
