OVERTON COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH TENNCARE FRAUD

An Overton County woman is charged with TennCare fraud in connection with selling prescription drugs she obtained using TennCare healthcare insurance benefits. The Office of Inspector General (OIG), with the assistance of the Overton County Sheriff’s Department, today (Friday, December 15, 2017) announced the arrest of 61-year-old Cecilia A. Wright of Livingston. She is charged with TennCare fraud in connection with using TennCare benefits to obtain the painkiller Oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, and later selling a portion of the drugs. District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway is prosecuting. TennCare fraud is a Class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison per charge.
