Athens City Middle School in McMinn County was placed on lock down today (Wednesday, December 13, 2017) after two bullets were found by students in the school hallway. The school’s principal, Mike Simmons, said that the police were called and the school was placed on the lock down status as a pre-caution while authorities investigated the scene. Officers reviewed surveillance videos to see if they can tell how or who put the bullets in the hallway. No weapons were reportedly found. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 2 p.m. eastern today.
