The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a double murder that took place in Bledsoe County last night (Thursday, November 30, 2017). Officers were called to a residence on Sawmill Road in Pikeville around 7 last night where they discovered the bodies of 46-year-old Deanna Lawrence and her daughter, 24-year-old Dedra Lawrence. Officers say a third subject in the home, Joe Whittenburg, was transported to Erlanger Hospital for treatment then charged with two counts of homicide. Whittenburg was found unresponsive at the home when authorities arrived. Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris reportedly told the media that both women were brutally attacked but did not disclose the manner of how they both died. Investigators say the mother and daughter lived at the home with their boyfriend’s. When Deanna Lawrence’s boyfriend was locked out when he arrived home last night and no one answered the door he broke into a window to gain entry. Once inside, he found the two women deceased and Joe Whittenburg, Dedra Lawrence’s boyfriend, unconscious. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the double murder at the request of 12th District Attorney General Michael Taylor.
