The Cumberland County Soil Conservation District recently recognized the FFA Soil Judging Team from Cumberland County High School at their annual awards dinner for their accomplishments. Their first contest was the district soil judging contest which was held in Clay County where their teams placed first and second. The top scoring members from that contest went on to participate in the Middle Tennessee FFA Contest where they placed 3rd out of 49 teams. CCHS completed in the State Land Judging Contest on October 30 in Milan, Tennessee and placed 4th in that contest and were 1st Place in the middle Tennessee region. Team members were Sarah Buckner, C.J. Burgess, Nick Carpenter, Sarah Essex and Scott Winningham. Each team member was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
