MAN ESCAPES INJURY IN VEHICLE CRASH

The Tennessee Highway Patrol released information today (Tuesday, November 28, 2017) regarding a vehicle accident in Roane County early yesterday morning. Troopers say a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by 43-year-old Scott D. Mathes of Knoxville was traveling east on Highway 72 when he crossed the oncoming traffic lane and ran off the road striking a utility pole. According to the report, Mathes told officers he fell asleep right before the crash took place. Mathes was not injured and was restrained at the time of the accident.
