The City of Murfreesboro is getting prepared for what may be a lively Saturday as a white nationalist rally has been planned to take place. Officials say that a permit for the event has not yet been issued and residents say that the city is keeping “mum” on how it plans to handle things. However, they are telling people to stay clear of the downtown area. Others rallying against the organization known as “The League of the South” say they will attend. Many businesses say that they will be closing their doors during the demonstration and Middle State University President Sidney McPhee has cancelled Saturday events which were scheduled to take place on the campus. He has also ordered that all dorms and apartments be locked at 5 PM Friday and that they will remain locked until 8 AM Monday. All students are being advised to carry their keys and identification.
