A Grand Jury in Roane County has returned a true bill for reckless homicide in the case of a teen who allegedly shot his sister’s boyfriend during an altercation in August 2016. Jacob Kinney was 15-years-old at the time of the incident. Kinney, who is accused in the shooting death of Marstratton Gordon, was transferred from juvenile court to criminal court this past summer. Roane County News reports that District Attorney General Russell Johnson says that the Grand Jury was presented with a count of second-degree murder along with other choices, including reckless homicide. Johnson said that his office withdrew an alternate offer of criminal negligent homicide. According to the report, Gordon, who was in the military, was visiting Kinney’s sister, when the fight broke out. After the shooting, Kinney called 911 to report that he had accidentally shot Gordon.
