MAN ARRESTED FOR BANK ROBBERY

A Roane County man has been arrested for an area bank robbery. Officers say 29-year-old Christopher Wayne Best of Harriman allegedly held up the Regions Bank at 7320 Chapman Highway in Knoxville yesterday (Monday, October 23, 2017). Best was arrested shortly after the robbery in Sevier County by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and a Sevier County Constable. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, at approximately 12:20 p.m. yesterday a Caucasian male believed to be Best entered the Regions Bank and forcibly grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from a bank teller and fled south on Chapman Highway in a blue Ford Mustang driven by another individual.
