AREA SOLDIER INJURED AT FORT JACKSON

A Overton County, Tennessee soldier is one of the six injured in an accident at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. According to the United States Army, Private Benjamin Key of Livingston was injured. The Army says two soldiers passed away in the accident. Army officials said the accident involved a military vehicle and a troop formation on base. “We are continuing to support everyone affected by this tragic event,” said U.S. Army Training Center and Fort Jackson Commander Major Gen. Pete Johnson. “I am very appreciative for all the exceptional support from the Columbia medical community. We also appreciate the outpouring of support. Please keep the family members, injured soldiers and our fellow teammates affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.” An investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
