TWO INMATES CHARGED AFTER FIGHT IN JAIL

A fight that took place in the Roane County jail between three inmates has resulted in additional charges for two. According to the report from the sheriff’s office, 21-year-old Landon Irwin Grizzard of Harriman ran towards two other inmates that were in a physical altercation and allegedly struck one in the back of the head. Deputies say Grizzard then allegedly stomped the head of the fallen inmate several times. Officers rushed the pod and the altercation ended. Grizzard was charged with aggravated assault. Inmate John Marlow, one of the two involved in the first altercation, was charged with assault for attacking the other inmate who did not hit back.
