At the Rockwood City Council meeting last night (Monday, September 25, 2017), several certificates of appreciation were presented to Ridge View Elementary students for their art work which was displayed at city hall. The council approved a 2 percent discount to tax payers who pay their property taxes ahead of the deadline in October. The council also approved a gift of 2 trolleys from the City of Pigeon Forge. The council also passed a resolution to request all cities within Roane County to honor Deputy Governor and Roane County native Jim Henry for his many years of service and proclaim October 2, 2017 as Jim Henry Day.
