MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY SWINGING HATCHET IN WALMART

Just after 1 this morning (Wednesday, September 20, 2017), Crossville police responded to Walmart to a report of a man swinging a hatchet and carrying knives. According to the arrest report, officers say 27-year-old Zachary Aaron Gathercole of Coatsville, Pennsylvania told them he recently used meth. Gathercole allegedly told officers he took a knife out of a package in the store because he was afraid he was going to be hurt. Gathercole was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
