A traffic accident last night (Friday, September 15, 2017) in Rockwood left one man injured. Officers and medical first responders responded to the scene on West Rockwood Street following the Rockwood High School football game. Officers say the unidentified elderly man’s vehicle hit a utility pole in front of Live and Let Live Drug Store. When police arrived, the vehicle was lodged against the pole with the car in gear and wheels spinning causing smoke. Officers got the vehicle turned off and the driver reportedly had to be shocked by medical personnel a couple of times to regain a heart beat. The driver was transported by Lifestar to an area trauma center for treatment. Rockwood Street after the football game was closed to thru traffic as the accident was investigated.
