A trial got underway yesterday (Tuesday, September 12, 2017) in McMinn County for a man charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. Court officials say 60-year-old Harold L. Hutsell of Athens is accused of shooting 56-year-old George E. Sanford at a County Road 788 home in August 2015. The trial for Hutsell is expected to last all week. Court officials say a co-defendant, 30-year-old Daniel B. Farr of Athens, entered into a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office earlier this year to attempted second-degree murder. Farr received nine years in prison.
