The person chosen will serve in the State Senate for one year until the regular election cycle which takes place in August 2018. Early voting for the primary election will be held from October 18th through November 2nd. Early voting for the general election will run from November 29th through December 14th. The qualifying deadline for candidates is set for Noon September 28th and the last day to register to vote will be October 10th.
