“LETTER OF KINDNESS” FROM SECOND GRADE CUMBERLAND COUNTY STUDENT REACHES TEXAS FLOOD VICTIMS

A letter from a second grader at Crab Orchard Elementary School in Cumberland County intended for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas has reached its destination. The letter was wrote by a student named Macy and in the letter, Macy tells residents along the coast of Texas that she is sorry that their houses were flooded. That one simple message reached Dyann Carney of Conroe, Texas. Conroe is a town 20 miles north of Houston, Texas that was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. Carney thanked Macy and her teacher, Kayce Winningham Smith, for the kind letter. Carney said in a video response that the letter has not only been shared on the internet over 4,300 times but was tweeted on Ellen DeGeneres page. Carney said on behalf of Conroe, Texas they thank Macy and all of Crab Orchard Elementary for their kindness.
