A Crossville man is facing several charges following an incident late yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, August 15, 2017). Police responded to a Braun Hill Circle residence where 33-year-old Daniel Timothy Davis of Cumberland County allegedly broke a door to the home forcing his way inside. According to the arrest report, two women and a child were inside the home and ran to a vehicle, locking themselves inside. Officers arrived and when they approached the home, Davis reportedly yelled “search warrant” and slammed the door on the officer. Fearing for the women and the child and not being able to see them, police forced their way in and gave Davis several commands to show his hands to them. Davis reportedly did not comply resulting in him being tased. After three cycles from the taser, it was ineffective and Davis pulled the probes off his chest then allegedly told officer they would have to kill him. Davis also allegedly stated that he had a loaded shotgun and if he got to it, he would shoot two of the officers. Two more cycles from the taser brought Davis down and officers arrested him. Davis was charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count each of aggravated burglary and resisting arrest.
