EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TRAINING DRILL PLANNED FOR WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT

An emergency preparedness training drill involving the Watts Bar nuclear plant in Rhea County will take place Wednesday, August 16, 2017. The drill will include emergency responders from federal, state and local agencies, who will join Tennessee Valley Authority personnel. The drill is part of an ongoing series of exercises that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires in order to ensure an effective and coordinated response to protect the health and safety of the public in the unlikely event of an emergency at Watts Bar. People living in or traveling through the area may see increased traffic during the drill.
