ELDERLY COUPLE DROWN AT CENTER HILL LAKE

Two people died this afternoon (Monday, August 7, 2017) in an accidental drowning on Center Hill Lake in DeKalb County. According to officials with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, the incident happened around 4 p.m. at Floating Mill boat ramp when an elderly couple worked to unload a boat from the water to a vehicle. Officials said the couple drowned when the vehicle went into the lake with the couple inside. Crews have recovered both bodies. The names of the two have not been released by authorities. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the events leading up to the drowning.
