It is going to be a hot and humid weekend but the chance of afternoon and evening storms is on the increase and we saw an example of that late in the day on Friday with a heavy shower that developed over the Vandever area in Cumberland County. 40% chances for Saturday increase to 50% for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. By the first of the week highs will mostly be in the mid-to-upper 80s. The national high temperature on Friday was 118 at Death Valley California and the low was 31 at Boca Reservoir California. Friday was the hottest day of the summer so far across East Tennessee with 91° in Crossville and mid to upper 90s from Rockwood to Knoxville.
