An attraction at Pigeon Forge’s The Island will be removed after an accident took place this past weekend. Officials with the Tennessee Dept. of Workforce and Labor say that the Wave Rider attraction will be permanently removed. According to witnesses, Saturday a door from the ride opened suddenly throwing an 8-year-old girl off the ride. They say that the child, who has remained unidentified, was able to roll herself over and was talking and alert before being transported to UT Medical Center for a possible spinal injury.
