As of mid-afternoon today (Tuesday, July 18, 2017), Bledsoe County authorities were searching for an escaped child rapist from Indiana near Highway 30 and Main Street in Pikeville. Deputies said the fugitive may have been living with a relative in Sequatchie County and when officers tried to arrest him, he fled on foot. Agencies from Bledsoe, Rhea and Sequatchie Counties have also provided US Marshals with law enforcement assistance.
STORY UPDATE (3:50 pm) Officers say the suspect is 38-year-old Samuel Cravens. Cravens is described as a white male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. Here is a picture of Cravens:
