WOMAN KILLED IN A HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT

A White County, Tennessee woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Nashville yesterday (Saturday, July 15, 2017). Nashville police say the incident took place around 3:35 a.m. in the 2000 block of Charlotte Avenue. Officers say 29-year-old Kayla D. Anderson of Sparta was with a friend at the Shell market when she allegedly walked away. Her friend told police Anderson was intoxicated, and a witness reported hearing tires sequel and a woman scream. Anderson was found after being hit. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she passed away. Authorities said it appears Anderson had been lying in the road when she was hit based on her injuries. The incident is under investigation by the Nashville Police Department.
