The national high temperature on Friday was 127 at Death Valley California and the low temperature was 36 at Gothic Colorado. A rain gauge 3 miles south of Cookeville recorded 2.59 inches of rain Thursday night from those storms that brought flooding to some areas of Putnam County. An inch and a half was recorded in Monterey and over an inch near Harriman.
