CCHS BAND ROOM TO BE NAMED IN HONOR OF STEVE TINNEL

The Cumberland County Board of Education has approved naming the band room at Cumberland County High School in honor of a long-time music educator. The room will be dedicated and named in memory of Steve Tinnel, who passed away earlier this year. Tinnel started his teaching career in Cumberland County in 1976 and took over the CCHS band program in 1982 until he retired in 2004. Tinnel also was known for organizing the Upper Cumberland Band Festival that is hosted by Cumberland County High School.

Thanks to everyone who remembered Steve for all his work with the band program. I knew him for 40 years. I love him and miss him very much.
