IDENTITY OF MAN RELEASED THAT NEARLY DROWNED IN MORGAN COUNTY

Morgan County authorities released more information regarding a near drowning that took place last night (Sunday, June 25, 2017) near the Emory River. Officers say Carl Ooten of Rockwood was swimming with family and friends in the Burton Hole, a swimming area in a creek near the river off Deermont Road, when he went under. Ooten was pulled out of the water and medical first responders revived him while in route to Roane Medical Center.

    Mr. Ooten Succumbed to his injuries from drowning…He was transferred to Knoxville and Passed away around 4 am…
