The intersection of Highway 95 and Stone Drive reopened early this aftermoon (Wednesday, May 31, 2017) after Greenback Fire authorities urged residents to evacuate the area from a natural gas leak. Officials said the leak was caused by construction hitting a line. The gas was shut off as crews are worked to repair the line. Officials said the evacuation extended a half mile from the Highway 95 and Stone Drive intersection. In a tweet, the sheriff’s office described the leak as “major.”
