As state officials begin to spread the word about what road and bridge projects are on the plate about Governor Bill Haslam’s IMPACT Act, Roane County received word on road paving and improvements coming. Re-paving continues on Highway 61 between Harriman and Oliver Springs. Motorists should be aware of traffic delays in the area for the next few days. Work has begun on widening Highway 70 east of Rockwood with crews removing trees to prepare for the four lane upgrade to Patton Lane which is expected to take about a year. Highways 70 and 27 continue to be resurfaced from the roadway’s junction. And the work to make Highway 27 to Bitter Creek to near Mossey grove a four lane will be ongoing for the next year.
