The Food and Drug Administration announced a voluntary recall of all lot numbers of the Save-A-Lot Pick 5 Chicken & Waffle Sandwich, due to concerns about listeria contamination. The frozen product was distributed to Save-A-Lot stores nationwide. No illnesses have been reported to date. Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can range from short-term issues like headaches, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea to issues like miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. If you have purchased this product, you are asked to not consume it and call the FDA Consumer Hotline at 724-483-2056.
