Work has begun to extradite kidnapper and former Maury County teacher Tad Cummins back to Tennessee. The man who was discovered with 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas in California continues to be held in jail in that state although authorities have not revealed his location for security reasons. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department released Cummins from the local jail on Tuesday night, which allowed the extradition process to start. Afterward, U.S. Marshals will escort Cummins to the airport where he will be flown to an undisclosed location in Middle Tennessee.
