Cumberland County firefighters responded to a structure blaze around 5:30 this afternoon (Sunday, April 30, 2017) at the 2500th block of Claysville Road near Pleasant Hill. Fire crews arrived to see smoke coming from the home then flames rising through the roof. Firefighters had to rush to contain the blaze from spreading to a nearby structure that was within 30 feet. To add to the problem, a line of strong storms pushed into the area at the same time bringing high winds to fuel the fire. One person was reportedly transported by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment for smoke inhalation. A cause of the fire was not immediately released.
