The 13th District District Attorney General’s office in Crossville along with the Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County School System and Early Literacy Council are all teaming up on a literacy initiative. The school system and the council recently presented over 30 book bags filled with over 300 books to law enforcement in Cumberland County. The books will be shared with children as part of the initiative. The program is to create a community of young readers. District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway said building strong relationships between law enforcement and children while at the same time getting books in their hands is always a good thing.
