A very expensive piece of playground equipment was vandalized in Crossville last weekend. Police were called to Centennial Park Monday to the area of the children’s playground. Someone tore out a large section of the rubber playground flooring. The torn section was approximately 1 foot wide by 4 feet long. According to City Parks and Recreation Director Tammie French, the flooring must be replaced as a whole and not in sections. The estimated cost of replacement would be $10,000 and the investigation is continuing.
