A Hamilton County corrections deputy was fatally shot by Chattanooga Police during an incident early Wednesday morning. Police responded to an incident which involved a firearm at around 1:30 AM. According to reports, officers arriving on the scene encountered two off-duty CPD officers leaving the home. Another group of CPD Officers confronted a male suspect outside of the home and it’s said that during that time the officers were forced to shoot the suspect. Aid was rendered until an ambulance arrived to take the suspect to the hospital where he later died. Officials learned that the suspect was an employee of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Dept. The investigation will be carried out by the TBI and District Attorney General’s Office.
