Since Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam is on his last term in office, talk is going around as to who will run for the highest office in the state in 2018. Knoxville Republican businessman Randy Boyd has announced his intent to run. Now State Republican Sen. Mae Beavers says she is considering a possible run for the office. Beavers has been in the news recently sponsoring a bill seeking to require students to use restrooms and locker rooms of the sex on their birth certificates. House Speaker Beth Harwell and U.S. Rep. Diane Black have also shown an interest in running.
