The Roane County Sheriff’s Dept. along with investigators from the State Fire Inspector’s Office, are continuing their investigation into a structure fire which happened Thursday morning. An unidentified body was discovered in the rubble. The blaze, which Sheriff Jack Stockton called “intense”, was located at a double-wide modular home on Mountain View Rd. According to sources, the body, believed to be that of a male, was found near a set of stairs outside of the home. The home, which was completely destroyed, had been foreclosed earlier on a family named Walker. Utilities had been reportedly turned off. Sheriff Stockton commented that the TBI and Bomb and Arson Squad were assisting in the investigation which is being treated as a crime scene at this time. The body has been taken to UT Medical Center to discover the identity and to determine cause of death.
