Funeral services for Raymond F. Darby Sr., age 80, of Crossville will be held Saturday, March 18, at 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Crossville. Burial will follow in Crossville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home.
Darby was born October 30, 1936 in Syracuse, NY the son of William V. and Eda R. Strieff Darby. He was retired from Emery Worldwide as a truck driver and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was also a US Navy veteran having served during Korea and a member of the American Legion Post 0163.
He is survived by his son, Raymond Darby Jr. of Constantia, New York; daughters: Penny Hunt and her husband John of Pulaski, VA, Lori Wiley and her husband Bill of Warrensburg, MO and Eda Boyea and her husband Les of Bernhards Bay, NY; brothers: Clark Darby of North Syracuse, NY and Chester Darby and his wife Estelle of Crossville, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marian Darby and brothers William and Jerry Darby.
Hood Funeral Home in Crossville is in charge of arrangements.
