The Cumberland County Fair Association Board won several awards at the Tennessee Association of Fairs annual convention and awards banquet in Nashville. 2016 Fairest of the Fair winner Gracy Mae Bilyeu was awarded 3rd runner up and Miss Photogenic in the State Fairest of the Fair contest. The county’s 2016 fair, themed “Ridin, Rockin’, & Livestockin’” was chosen as the AAA Division Champion Fair. The Rhea County Fair won the AA Division Fair, and the Bledsoe County Fair was awarded the A Division Fair Champion. The 2016 fair attracted over 53,000 visitors. Lynn Tollett was also honored with the Thornton Taylor award at this year’s banquet. This award is designated for an individual who has served his/her community, fair association, and the state fair association. Lynn has served as President of the Cumberland County Fair Association and the Tennessee Association of Fairs. He has served as a County Commissioner, and recently retired from the State of Tennessee.
