WHITE COUNTY WILL NOT ADOPT STANDARD DISTANCE RULES FOR LOCAL BEER SALES

///

The White County Commission has ruled out adopting the state alcohol distance requirement laws and rules for local beer sales. The resolution failed unanimously. A previous resolution set the distance rules for beer sales in the county. Since that time, the county approved liquor-by-the-drink sales and package store sales which are regulated by the state and prohibit any distance rules. The resolution that had been proposed to commissioners would have set a standardized distance rule for all businesses.
