Cookeville will continue to host the BlueCross Bowl according to TSSAA Officials. The organization’s Board of Control approved to keep the high school state championship game in the Hub City from 2017-2020. Cookeville has hosted the bowl game at Tennessee Tech since 2009. Both they and Clarksville put in bid proposals.  TTU Athletic Director Mark Wilson is the bowl’s Steering Committee Chair. Part of the package deal offered a financial guarantee of $253,000 and continued facility enhancements of Tucker Stadium.
