Nearly 900 families received their first distribution check from the Dollywood Foundation’s “My People” fund. The fund was established by Dolly to aid in assistance to those families who lost their homes to the wildfires that struck the Gatlinburg area in late November and early December. Donations to the fund continue to come in with the latest totals around $9.3 million. Registered families receive $1000 a month for six months. 884 families received checks during the first four-day distribution period.
